Is Neuropathy slowing you down? Do you waken at night due to leg pain? Let me tell you how I reversed my neuropathy.
Getting rid of Neuropathy is easier than getting it in the first place but, you can only do so once! That is what I found out by asking many others who did reverse it.
These are the things I did upon coming home from the hospital and newly diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, stroke and A-fib.
I made absolutely sure I took Magnesium glycinate 240 mg. every single night before bed.
I wore compression socks. Not the cheap ones but, the good ones every single day. I wore medium compression.
I bought an SMS pad from CVS. That is an electric Muscle stimulation pad. I used this daily with socks on at a higher frequency for 45 to 60 minutes every single day.
Tai Chi became my Go To exercise.
I kept my blood sugar in check and never allowed my fasting Glucose in the morning to be over 119.
I made sure I took my diabetic medicine daily.
When I had the chance during the day I elevated my feet. I also never allowed my feet to become calloused.
I tried every magnesium cream on the market and none of them contain enough magnesium to help your nerves. Cream is topical, you have to be able to effect the nerves inside the body. Therefore I started using a cheap moisturizing cream from the dollar store and had better results. it kept my feet soft. In addition after applying this cream at night after washing them and drying them good. I put on light weight cotton socks and wore them to bed.

I went on a strict anti -inflammatory diet.

Personally I believe in supplements and vitamins. So, I added B-12, folic acid,Vitamin D, Omega-3 and B-complex to my morning vitamins. This allowed me to help reverse nerve damage. I did this with the knowledge of my primary provider.
I lost weight and got back to my normal BMI. That really helped! But it took a customized diet of NO salt, sugar, pasta. bread, potatoes, pizza, flour, or pastries.
Six months later my provider took me off of the diabetic medication after I had successfully lowered my A1c to non dangerous level of 6. from 11.
I am proud to say today it is in normal range. I lost over 50 pounds at 76 years old!
This was hard work, but, I had nothing better to do than take care of me and turn this terrible diagnosis round. It can take up to a year to regenerate nerves that are not too far damaged. That was almost 4 years ago. Today I am no longer afraid of losing my feet or ending up in a wheelchair. It was so worth all the work!
